Eindrucksvoll zeigt er in seinem Solokonzert die Ausdruckskraft und Vielfalt beider Instrumente. Mit seinen unglaublichen Techniken entlockt er den Trommeln faszinierende und zauberhafte Klänge und spielt sein Publikum langsam in eine Art Trance – das ist meditatives Klangvergnügen in Reinform. Arash Sasan Band: A musical bridge from Tehran to Munich

Between East and West: Oriental and Mediterranean sounds blend with modern jazz and Persian poetry. The Arash Sasan Band invites you to a concert experience full of enthusiasm, energy and emotional stories.The concert’s title says it all: it tells the story of an artistic journey between two worlds – from Tehran to Munich – and of the unique language of music, in which different cultures engage in dialogue with one another.Between past and presentArash Sasan’s music is shaped both by his Iranian roots and his life in Europe today. Deeply rooted in Persian culture, it blends traditional melodies and poetic narratives with jazz, Mediterranean influences and modern arrangements. Sasan’s compositions speak of longing, memory, love and the encounter between different cultures. Tender, intimate moments alternate with powerful grooves, catchy melodies and free improvisations. Sasan’s guitar playing also holds echoes of Spanish flamenco rhythms, which he learnt in Tehran in the 1980s and developed further in Europe.Building bridges with stories A special feature of Sasan’s concerts are the often personal, intimate stories behind his songs, which he recounts with humour and a fine sense for detail, thereby creating a direct connection with the audience.The band Arash Sasan (vocals & guitar): An expressive voice, an oriental-influenced chanson style and poetic songwritingJosef Reßle (piano): winner of the BMW Welt Young Artist Jazz Award, renowned for his lyrical sensitivity and virtuoso jazz styleWilbert Pepper (double bass): Trained at the renowned Venezuelan El Sistema programme; ever open to new influences, he blends jazz, classical and world musicGuido May (drums): Jazz drummer, known for his collaborations with artists such as Pee Wee Ellis, Till Brönner and Klaus DoldingerThe Arash Sasan Band embodies a vibrant musical dialogue between cultures, making for a performance that transcends boundaries and allows the audience to experience music as a universal language.
